Closing the browser mid-upload

After you press End, your visit is kept encrypted on this device until it uploads. In Chrome, Edge and Samsung Internet the upload can finish with SOAPsuds closed; in Safari, on an iPhone and in Firefox, keep SOAPsuds open until it finishes.

What is safe to close

The uploading screen tells you what to do in your browser:

  • "You can close SOAPsuds." The visit finishes uploading by itself, and its note is written once it is in.
  • "Keep SOAPsuds open on screen until this finishes." If it closes, the visit stays encrypted on this device and uploads the next time you open SOAPsuds in this browser.
  • "Keep this window open." You are in a window that does not keep the visit once closed (such as a private window). Closing it asks first.

Once the visit is saved, Visits says "Closing SOAPsuds won't stop the note." The note keeps writing and opens from Visits when it is done.

If the page closed before you pressed End

A visit cut off by a closed page, a crash or a dead battery does not upload by itself, because you may have closed it on purpose. Visits shows it under Waiting to upload: "The page closed before End. Upload what was recorded, or delete it."

Waiting to upload on Visits (sample patient).
  1. Open Visits. New visit also says "A visit stopped when the page closed." with a link, Upload it on Visits.
  2. Press Upload it. The recorded part uploads and its note is written. A visit under 30 seconds is not kept.
  3. Or delete it. Press the bin button and confirm. It cannot be brought back.

What to check afterwards

  • Open Visits in the same browser on the same device. Waiting to upload should be gone and the visit listed.
  • If a row says "Your sign-in ended", press Sign in again.
  • A visit waits on this device for up to 7 days.
  • Signing out with a visit still on this device asks first and names the visit.
