Back to Recording a visit

Recording when your internet drops

Keep recording. SOAPsuds saves the visit encrypted on your device as it records and uploads it by itself once you are back online. The note is written then.

Before you start

If there is no connection, a line under the start button says you can still record. The wording depends on your browser.

New visit start card with the line No connection right now. You can still record: the visit is kept encrypted on this device and uploads once you are back online with SOAPsuds open
New visit with no connection (sample patient).

During the visit

The recording keeps going. The live transcript says "No connection. Still recording." and its words come back once you are online. Your note is written from the recording either way, so a gap in the live transcript does not mean a gap in the note.

Recording bar still showing Recording, with the Live transcript header No connection. Still recording.

After you press End

A card says "Your visit is safe". It names the patient, says why the visit has not uploaded yet and that it is kept encrypted on this device for up to 7 days. Press Start next visit to carry on with your day.

Card titled Your visit is safe explaining the visit for Maria S. has not uploaded and is kept encrypted on this device for up to 7 days, with a Start next visit button
After End with no connection (sample patient).

When the connection is back, the visit uploads by itself and the card changes to "Visit uploaded". The visit also shows on Visits under Waiting to upload until it is in.

Use the same browser on the same device. A visit kept on this device cannot be seen from another browser. In Safari, on an iPhone and in Firefox, keep SOAPsuds open (or open it again) so the visit can upload.

If your sign-in ended instead, the card says so: press Sign in again in this browser and the visit uploads. The 30-day deletion counts from the visit time, also for a visit that uploaded late.
