What counts as a note, and when my 40 reset

Each visit you record or upload that SOAPsuds writes a note for counts as one note. On Individual, your 40 notes start again on your plan's monthly renewal date; unused notes don't carry over.

What counts

ThisUses a note?
An in-person, telehealth or uploaded visit that gets a noteYes, one
Editing a note, or rewriting it with Magic edit or new note settingsNo
The sample note, or recording the sample visitNo
A recording under 30 seconds (it isn't saved)No

When your 40 start again

  • Your 40 notes are for each billing month. They start again on the day your plan renews, not on the 1st of the month.
  • Notes you don't use don't carry over to the next month.
  • Subscription shows This month and how many are left. When you have none left, it says the date they start again.

When you reach 40

New visit shows You've used this month's 40 notes and the date they start again. To keep recording now, choose Switch to Unlimited. You confirm the change first. Today you're charged for Unlimited for the rest of the month, minus the unused part of your Individual plan.

A visit recorded with no notes left isn't lost. It waits on Visits under Waiting for notes for 7 days. When you have notes again, choose Write the note.

The free trial works differently: 20 notes in total, with no monthly reset. See How the free trial works.
